Using EDM on electroplated Nickel

Q. How commonly is EDM used on electroplated deposits. For instance, over-plating a deposit in a bore and then using EDM to achieve a specific dimension?

Any reason to not use EDM?

A. Is it common, no. Can it be done, probably. do you want to do it, probably not as the EDM that I have seen tends to be relatively rough IE: spark pits.

Why not mill it? It would be quicker.
Hone is a possibility, but only if you need to remove a couple of tenths.
