Gravimetric determination of Sulphate
hi,
I have a Na salt of napthalene sulphonate condensate liquid. I have to detect SO4 and Na2SO4 from it by gravimetric method. If I dry this 4 gm liquid at 110 c for 90 min., I get 43% solid residue after ignition. So for SO4 analysis shall I take my snf liquid or dry solids for analysis? Why are there differences in liquid SO4 and dry snf solid SO4 result. What calculation do I have to follow for SO4 and Na2SO4 percentage determination?
