Is HCl certificate-of-analysis lacking?
Hi
I have recently found a new job in galvanizing industry as a Quality Assurance, which is a new environment for me. My question is on the certificate of analysis from our supplier; it only shows the strength of hydrochloric acid but the is no specific gravity/density. Is it normal or I should insist for the inclusion of SG in the certificate.

I would say it is normal for the C of A to just give you the concentration, but some manufacturers might also include the specific gravity. If you need to know the specific gravity, you can always look it up in a chemical reference like CRC or Perry's where they will have a table that lists the specific gravity at various concentrations of HCl.
