Help understanding torque screwdrivers
Hello, my company is using Utica (TS-30 & TS-100) torque screwdrivers for threaded fasteners. Can I use an extension (5-6")without affecting the final torque? Why?
Thanks

Yes, Eduardo, you can use extensions without affecting the torque. Torque is a measure of force times the perpendicular distance from the force to the pivot point.
A 50-pound child sitting on a seesaw 6 foot from the pivot point exerts 300 pound-feet of torque, and would be balanced by a 60-pound child who sat 5 foot from the pivot point, or a 100-pound child who sat 3 feet from the pivot point It might be dangerous for a child to stand on the seesaw rather than sit, but it would not change the balance.
The grip on your screwdrivers sets the perpendicular distance from where you apply the force to the center of the screws, and extensions are similar to a child standing on the see saw.
