Testing for Sulfur in Silver plating process

I am seeing high levels of sulfur this on eBay or Amazon [affil links] through the plating layer in copper / silver plated parts.

Where could this come from?
Is there a test I should do of the baths

A wild guess is that it is coming from your cleaner or your acid etch.
The plating chemical vendors can give you a lot analysis for their chemicals.
Some brighteners contain sulfur organics.
How have you determined that there is a high sulfur content at the interface of the two plates?

ICP will easily give you the dissolved sulfur
