Primer paint vs rust preventative oil coating
I have a fabricated structure, which is machined, drilled and tapped and assembled. I would like to know what would be the preferred surface protection for the top face of tapped holes which is connected to other assembly by bolting.
1. Give a rust preventative oil coating on machined face. OR
2. Give a coating of primer paint

Hi, Jayaprakash. Well, primer is for priming, which means that's the wrong answer for a final finish. So, by process of elimination, rust preventative oil :-)
