What chain oil works for conveyor in phosphating system?

November 11, 2009

We run a small chain line, incorporating iron-phosphate pre-treatment, and are having difficulty in sourcing an oil that will handle the temperature without either dripping or leaving a "scale", fragments of which drop on to product.

The oil we used for 10 or so years is no longer available or at least I have been unable to find it. The old supplier is unable to help.

What is the "standard" lube that people are using? The chain oiler is a standard air-powered 6 nozzle in line lubricator triggered by a light beam.

Thanks
