Soda taste funny when drinking from stainless steel containers

I bought some stainless steel containers for the family to use instead of plastic bottles for their beverages. But we all have noticed a funny taste to our soda. Is the soda reacting with the stainless steel ? The after taste is awful.

As soon as you transfer the soda from the 2 or 3 liter bottle, it will start going flat. That said, there is probably some reaction going on with the soda that gives it the "off" taste. It is not terribly probable that it is reacting with the stainless steel, but it is certainly a possibility.
