Calculating hydrogen output from micro generating plant

Hi guys
I am currently a first-year student at the North-West University of South-Africa, Potchefstroom campus; and we have to conceptualise, design, test and build a fully functional micro-hydrogen generating plant. I have run into a problem though.
How does one calculate the amount of hydrogen delivered within a specific time?
Kind regards
Karl Steiner

One way would be to vent the gas to an upside down tube or bottle or ? and measure the amount of water displaced over a given time or amperage.
