Why are car wheels made of steel?

I wanted to know why steel is used so much in wheels of a car?

Hi, Aditi. Is this a homework question? If so, one of the fun ways to approach it is to ask yourself "why aren't car wheels made of something else?" Why aren't they made of chocolate? Why not gold? Why not stale bread? Why not window glass? You'll begin to answer the "why not?" questions with replies like "not strong enough", "not cheap enough", "not stable enough", "too brittle". Pretty soon you'll be saying to yourself, "what is very strong, quite cheap, very stable, not brittle". Maybe you'll come up with a few materials like aluminum, steel, and magnesium. Good luck.
