Bathtub Gets Blue/Green Stains
Our new house was completed about 18 months ago, and we have always had the problem with the plastic jets, the anti-slip material, and the bottom of the whirlpool tub turning a greenish blue. There are two other bathtubs in the house with no sign of this problem.
The whole house is plumbed with copper pipe, from the City's water meter throughout the whole house. Black pipe was used for the natural gas, and where the two different types of pipes crossed, they were wrapped and/or set at different elevations under the floor joists. We also used a tank-less water heater. I know that this etching of the copper lines is caused by something, but what could it be?

Blue-Green staining is generally due to low PH. Because you are not experiencing any in the house, I would think you just need to go to a Pool Center and discuss various options to fix. Good luck!
