Quandary on ice clinging to zinc plated, chromate coated parts
We have a customer that tests in a high humidity chamber at high temperature, but the drawer of the freezer (0 °F) is opened periodically. This causes condensation on the metal parts, which freeze when the drawer is closed. Corrosion resistance is not an issue, but a coating to prevent the ice clinging so well to the metal parts would solve the problem. Is there a final coating, after leachant sealant, that would accomplish this objective? Wax? Silicone? Teflon?....Help....!

Most suppliers of leachant-sealants offer versions that either incorporate a wax, or provide a wax that can be added separately to the leachant-sealant topcoat. These formulations were developed to provide salt spray resistance as well as torque-tension relationships for threaded assemblies. Contact your leachant-sealant supplier for further details.
