How to sell surplus Rhodium, other plating electrolytes and equipment?

June 8, 2008

Dear all,

I'm from Romania and have a plating shop, mostely for Zn, Zn-Fe, Cr, Ni and Cu.
Due to some customer requests I established also a small precious metal plating line in 1liter scale 3 years ago. After all the demand was not high and the Rh and Au prices increased a lot, so I decided to stop that business 1 year ago. I sold the old Rh and Au electrolytes, hooks and racks to a refinery - they cheated me like hell, they paid only 25 Πper gram of rhodium and 11 Πfor Au.
Now my question, I have some unused electrolytes left, like 4 g Rhodium for rack plating, 2 g Rh for pen plating, 1.5 g Au rose (4-5N) for pen plating, around 3 g Au as PGC, 2 almost brand new beaker [beakers on eBay or Amazon [affil links] glass Platinodes, glassware, rectifier and so on.
In my eyes too good to dump it or to sell it to a refinery (pirates!).

Any idea what I can do with that things, so far it seems there is nobody in romania who can use that things....

Any help would be nice!

Best regards,

Dan P.

Hi, Dan. You can sell it on eBay for a commission. Good luck.
