Titanium Racks for small parts

February 28, 2008

I need to know how many parts I can run in (one time) the anodizing tank Type I; the size of the tank is 24x24x36 deep inches; I have enough rectifier capacity; I need kind of rack to run more parts 2x1x1/2 inches, with hole each one
Thanks

A box or a fan type rack will work about the same.

The box can be of a width and depth that is best your tank,

You can run 1 large fan type or possibly 2 smaller ones.

The central spine on the fan or the 2 on the box rack must be able to carry what ever the current is that you end up with based on the number of parts times the area. There are two voltages possible for Type I and the higher one will take nearly double the amperage that the lower voltage will (initially).

I would strongly recommend that you send a picture of the part with precise dimentions to two or three reputable anodize rack manufacturers. Include the liquid depth that you plan to run and let them price racks for you. Compare their recommendations and take your pick.

Do not get greedy and try to get racks too close to the sides and the bottom of the tank, or the liquid level or you will not anodize properly and increase the probability of arcing a rack/part out.
