Electroless copper plating of circuit boards




Pls can you help me with comprehensive steps and chemicals involved electroless plating of coppa pcb. I am fidelis.

In principle, the copper plating solution is autocatalytic, Fidelis. This means that it has a reducing agent which can reduce the dissolved copper ions to metallic copper in the presence of a catalyst, and one of the catalysts that will work is the copper plating itself. But such solutions are usually proprietary because it is not easy to get a solution which will deposit as required but will not spontaneously plate out. Plus, there is a lot involved in getting the board properly activated for the copper plating to start.

You will not find "comprehensive steps" on the internet, but hopefully your college library or city library can locate a copy of Coombs' Printed Circuits Handbook[this on Amazon affil links] which has been the "classic" of PCB plating for decades now. Good luck.
