What is the advantage of using lacquer coating on zinc plated jobs. What is the salt spray life.

What is the advantage of using lacquer coating on regular zinc plated components .How much is the increase in the salt spray life after lacquer coating.

Hi, Pankaj. Actually you've answered part of the question yourself. The advantage of applying a lacquer is to increase the corrosion resistance of the zinc deposit and extend it's life. The increase in salt spray life would depend entirely upon which lacquer (or top coat) you applied. There are a variety of different types on the market which will offer anything from a 4 or 5 times increase to many multiples of that. How much do you want to pay?
