Is there any relationship between thickness of anodized film and hardness of the film?

I want to know how to measure the hardness of anodized film as well as relationship between film thickness and hardness

A cut section mounted and polished and then the use of a microhardness tester. The cut and polish is a lot more difficult than it sounds for good work. Thickness has nothing to do with hardness. The closeness of the individual cells controls that (anodizing temperature). Note that you do have to have a thick enough coat to not have the edges fracture during the test.
