Thinking of starting a E Coat Job shop?

I'm a Federal Fire Fighter by day and custom painter and powder coater by night. I've been thinking of opening a shop of my own for years and am very interested in E Coating. So my Question is this. Is it cost effective? I've seen Custom E-coat in person but am not familiar with the actual process. I understand the concept but have never seen it done. So how does it actually work or "go down the line."? And Finally is there a smaller line setup or something to do smaller parts? Just something to get started and make bigger. Or am I lost in the sauce somewhere.

There are parts of the question that I can answer and then there are parts which I cannot.

I cannot answer if a small E-coat line will be successful / cost effective. I do not know if there is a requirement for E-coating of small parts.

What I do know is that small E-coat lines are available. And I say that with authority since we manufacture and supply them.

For the entire process you can refer to www.electrocoat.org

and also to our web site.

Hopefully between the two, all your questions will be answered.
