Phosphating Sludge Removal
My company was running the heavy zinc phosphating with temperature around 80-90 °C. However, the frequency of the sludge build-up was very high and our guys have to remove the sludge manually on monthly basis. We have to do it as the performance of the chemical dropped with the increase of sludge.
I have done some research and I understand that there are some companies offer filtration system. Due to limited budget, I just wonder if we can fabricate a simple filter to avoid sludge buildup in the tank. I appreciate if anyone can suggest a way to do it or someone may came across a simple filter that serve its purpose... Please do advise. Thanks....

You can let gravity do most of the filtration, Ronnie. Look up subjects like "hopper-bottom tank", "cone bottom tank", "slant tube clarifier", and "lamella plate clarifier" to better familiarize yourself with the technologies to cobble together a gravity separation system.
