Need more info about E-coating dip painting
I have heard about the e-coating process for dip painting small parts , but am looking for more information on the process and equipment, etc . Can someone enlighten me?

Hi, Eileen. E-coating can be used as a primer (such as on auto bodies) or as a final coat. Either way it offers the advantages of very thin coat, plus very complete coverage.
It's a process similar to electroplating, but for organic coatings rather than metal coatings. Electricity is applied to the parts and it causes molecular changes in the paint molecules, with the paint affixing itself to the component. This then electrically shields the component from further deposition of paint onto that area, tending to give thin and very uniform coatings.
