How to make powder coating on plastic jar
2005
Dear frends,
I am from Bulgaria and have a firm which produce plastic jars for cosmetic. We use polypropylene PP, polistirol PS BASF 165H, and styrene acrilonitrate SAN.I want to make them to look 'frosted''. The European producer called them so. But I have no idea how to do and I have not any equipment. Can you help me with some advise what kind of equipment I need? Or some technology method. Thank you.
best regards

I see two problems here: 1. Powder coating requires heat in order to cure, will the plastic be able to withstand 300- 350 degrees F? 2. How do you intend to apply the powder coating?
There are liquid coatings that will imitate "frosting". Have you considered using one of them?

How are the jars manufactured? Is there a way to incorporate the texture into the mold being used?
