Corrosion on nickel plating
I am having problems with corrosion on nickel plating. We are having screwdriver bits made of S-2 and an aluminium component nickel plated. Our client has done a corrosion test in both salt water and tap water. Our product has failed these tests. Can anyone offer some help as to how I can solve this problem?

First you need to collect some data, like what exactly is the plating spec, and what exactly is the corrosion test spec that you failed. Lacking that it's not possible to get anywhere, Fred.

In the electrochemical series there is 1.47 volts between nickel and aluminum, more in salt water. I apologise for not knowing S-2. If the aluminum is exposed and the nickel is exposed, the aluminum will corrode chemically and galvanically.
