Industry Standards for Repainting Cars?
Help!
I just paid $2,000 to a body shop to get most of my black 1997 Honda Prelude repainted (it got sandblasted by a passing truck on a highway).
My car now has pretty significant orange peel in several places but the body shop told me it meets "industry standards". What are the industry standards for repainting cars?
Thanks for any help you can provide!

As a proud member of the finishing industry, I get really offended when people do a lousy job and then make up the phony claim that it
"meets standards" of my industry. It does like hell. Ask them for any ASTM spec number that says orange peel is acceptable. If they can't produce one, take them to small claims court (assuming Virginia covers $2000 as a small claim). Good luck.
