a)I have to recognise and name the properties of aluminium ore

b)I have to recognise and name the products of separation and their uses

c)I have to recognise and name and discuss the issues and associated with wastes from the processes used

Hello Megan!

I admit to being a bit confused- I don't see a question up there, only an assignment. : )

Anyway, the primary aluminum ore is bauxite. Aluminum oxide is usually extracted by the Bayer process, then converted to aluminum by the Hall-Heroult process. You can find out a lot on these topics in a good library. Yes, there are some fine web sites that deal with aluminum, but you'd spend less time reading and writing in a library than you would endlessly searching for tidbits of info on the internet. Plus, you won't have that annoying situation where the information goes directly from the internet to your printer and completely bypasses your brain.
