Recycling of water with polyglycol ether detergent in it
I need to recycle water that has a polyglycol ether detergent used for washing textiles after the finishing has been done on the metal components. I am currently using the water once and throwing it away. I need to save this environmental resource by recycling. Please help.

We were recycled wastewater with oils polluted on ethylene glycol with good results by electrolytic catalytic precipitation (ECP). In 240 minutes the glycols precipitated 27,5 mg/l to 5 mg/l and solids were precipitated in 5-6 minutes. The small sizes of the solids needs 1-3 micron gag filtration but good results. It needs also some catalytic enzymes. Damian Dinu- Constanta, Romania 2005 Recycling of water is accomplished in several different ways depending on the amount of water and what's in it, as well as what is required for the water to be re-useable. One common mistake is trying to get the water to a pristine condition before reuse instead of looking at the exact needs and building a process to accomplish that. Jeff Watson - Pearland, Texas |
