Corrosion protection of mild steel tanks
Hi,
I had a question regarding the corrosion protection of mild steel/stainless steel tanks, which are required to store rinse agents and caustic solution. Could you please suggest what can be done to protect the metal tanks from corrosion?

Real answers require real world questions, Dipti, that include the size of the tanks, what they are used for, and what the composition of the solutions is. But mild steel is widely used for holding caustic solutions in the metal finishing industry and may be fine for your requirements.

My company has had good success with corrosion protection with thermal spray coatings. They may cost more initially than regular paint, but they hold up for a very long time. A limiting factor is the size and shape of the vessel.
