Toothpaste as a cleaning household agent
I am a Primary School Teacher and wish to know the answer to a question put to me by my students. If toothpaste helps to clean our teeth, can it be used as a cleaning agent in the household. E.g. cleaning our pots and pans, tiles on the floor and in those "hard to get" places in cracks, etc.

If a man has crawled the hot desert on hands and knees, you can give him whiskey or tomato juice or chicken soup, and he'll be better off than had he received nothing.
Tooth paste contains extremely mild abrasive, which can be of some very limited value towards cleaning some things, but the kind of soils, tarnishes, mildews, stains, etc. that get on pots are different than those that get on floor tiles, which are different than those that get on teeth, and it is better to tailor a cleaning agent to the job at hand, than to pick one designed to fight tartar, bad breath, and cavities.
