What should jeweler tell our customers about white gold?

I started selling fine jewelry in a small department store this past June. I have had two or three customers ask me if the white gold rings we sell will turn back to yellow gold. At the time I told them, "Not as far as I know." Now I don't know what to tell them or how to tell if the 14K and 10K white gold rings are plated or not. We buy from a large number of manufacturers and that information is not included with the product. I do not want to miss-lead my customers, especially about something as important as their wedding rings. What should I tell them? Should I admit that some white gold does change? I wouldn't have a way to tell them if the jewelry we sell would or wouldn't. This makes me feel terrible. My own son got married in June and has a white gold set. It came from a big change jewelry store so hopefully they won't have any problems. What is the best way for me to handle this question when it comes up? I do not want to lie to my customers.
