How do I create a black patina on iron?

I have been working on an iron bench. I have just removed all of the red rust and now it is bright and silver. What chemicals or formulas should I use to give it a black patina?

Thanks.

You can paint it on your object(or spray or immerse object in solution). Instead tartaric acid this on eBay or Amazon [affil links] you can use phosphoric acid(15 gm).
