Neutralizing etching and plating chemicals

2004

To whom it may concern,

I am seeking information about:
·Methods for neutralizing etching / plating chemicals before sending these to the drain
·Means for measuring the (potassium) cyanide concentration in water

Thanking you in advance for the reply,

Daniel Dahan, Senior Tool Engineer

The best method is going to depend on what plating chemistry and what etchant chemistry you are talking about. Waste treatment processes depend upon what is going to be treated. For example, treatment for cyanide plating baths is different from treatment from a hexavalent chromium bath which is different from an acid copper bath. Let us know what you are seeking to treat, and maybe we can suggest something.
