How do I remove oxides from O.D. of welded tube?
I work for a company that plates automotive tubing with zinc followed by Galfan and PVC. We are having issues with our welded tubing and different oxides on the O.D. These oxides are creating a lack of adhesion, and once our parts make it to our customer, they are rejecting them. We have recently added an electroclean process to our existing pickle and ultrasonic processes. The electroclean process has helped our brazed tubing, but done very little to clean the oxides off of the welded tube. Any suggestions to solving this problem would be appreciated.
Thanks,

Too many unknowns here, mainly concerning the tube itself. Meaning size, configuration, quantity. There are a couple of options.

This is not an answer but only a suggestion, have you ever tried dry-ice blasting?
