Cleaning protective wax off magnesium metal

2004
Q. We have received a shipment of magnesium metal 900, covered with a thin layer of wax for protection. The customer asks us to wax-clean each block before reshipping it to their customer. Given the fact that interaction of Magnesium with water may be dangerous, what are the recommended cleansing ways for large quantities of magnesium. Your prompt help will be well appreciated.

Thanx,

A. You can use white spirit (combustible) or trichloretylene (non combustible but toxic)!
