Surface finish roughness vs. glass bead blast operational parameters

We weld 316 stainless steel to produce powder hoppers. We glass bead blast the exterior. Can you determine for a given blast media size, air pressure and air flow a range of surface finish in micro inches? Looking for a matrix here....

Not a simple answer, but here are a few basics. The smaller the media, the finer the surface finish. Also, the softer the media the finer the surface finish relative to first item. Shape is somewhat important in that the more round and/or uniform the shape of the media the finer the finish. Now, air pressure and angle also play a role in the final surface finish. I do not believe there is a chart that will give you exact results, but they may give you you a range.
