Chrome plate my lineman's pliers for less then $50?
Howdy yall,
Here is my situation, I am an electrician, have been for about 3.5 years and hopefully done with making rookie mistakes (cutting live oven lines). So in an effort to do a One-up on the other guys I work with, I am trying to find out if getting my lineman's pliers chrome plated is possible for under $50. I have called up a few business, but they want orders of 50 truck bumpers. They are willing to charge me $350 to do a pair pliers, not worth the price to be the cool kid on the block. any input would be great! spray paint, would that work as an alternative?

It is true that plating is relatively cheap when the process can be done hundreds at a time, and quite expensive due to labor cost when done onezy twozy. Still, $350 sounds quite high and I think you can find a shop to nickel or nickel-chrome plate your pliers for about $50.
You can alternately have them gold plated for a more "positive" look. Good luck.
