Joining of riser tube and metal strip
Hi,
I am a grad student at Texas A&M University, and am working on a project for my thesis, which is regarding solar flat plate collectors.
I wanted to know a cheap and inexpensive way to joining/welding the selective coating strip and the riser tube in a Fin tube of a flat plate solar collector.
The company I am doing a project for, is using tin strips and soldering the two together, but it takes 20 minutes to get one done. Another alternative is Ultrasonic welding, but its too expensive to implement. Can you suggest a cheaper but quicker way to bond the riser tube with the selective coating strip?
Thanks,

I don't think I really understand the question . . . but it doesn't take 20 minutes to solder something unless the soldering method is ill-suited to the components that you are soldering, for example trying to solder large components with a small wattage electric gun.
