Etching/stamping stainless with a leaf pattern
2003
I am remodeling/designing a large eat-in kitchen and would like to install a stainless backsplash along the entire area between the bottom of the upper cabinets and counter area of the lower cabinets
(approx. 2'x 9').
I have found some stainless, however, would like to have it etched/stamped with a leaf pattern. Is this possible and if so, how would I find someone that has the capabilities to do so?

Yes it is possible. Probably cost quite a bit to have someone do it for you but it is possible to do it yourself too. For stamping as long as the metal is fairly thin, you can use leather working stamps (many leaf shapes available in $10 range) just lay down the steel on a flat firm board and hit the stamp with a mallet. As for etching they have kits/machines you can buy for this. They sell them locally at art stores here. The one I use for marking my stainless steel knife parts is called the Personalizer ($100-ish) and is available from knifemaking suppliers just do a web search for "knifemaking supplier" and you will find them quick enough.
