Preserving the shine

2003

After the finishing polish , what can I put on the aluminum to preserve the shine. I saw a product on Horse Power TV but I can not remember the name of it, if some one can tell me the name of this product or of any other I would greatly appreciate it .

Now for a great tip , I recently polished all the aluminum accessories on my pickup, which consisted of a aluminum tool box, complete tailgate protector, and a piece that covers the front of the bed(about the same size as the tailgate), I started with the normal wool type pad and a air buffer, and a product called Green Light'n by Hales Aluminum Polishing which is what got me here. This process produced a very high shine and gloss, but it left very fine buffing scratches. I tried finishing the pieces by hand but it just didn't have the finish I wanted, (by the way these pieces looked like hell, they were 13 years old and had been outside the whole time) in an attempt to improve the shine I tried many different thing and what finally worked the best was a medium foam pad used for car buffing. This pad was gotten from a company called Safety Kleen (it was blue) but you can get these pads at any parts store that sells painting supplies a variety of companies make them like 3M. It left an unbelievable shine and finish with no haze or scratches of any kind. The secret to using this type of polish(green light'n) is to keep the pad wet with the polish. I saw the tip about the flour and I am going to give it a try the next time I buff.Try this tip it works great.

Does anyone have any information on how to contact Hales Aluminum Polishing.
I wish to purchase some of their polish.

Thanks,

To contact Hales Aluminum Polishing you can mail 1249 US 701 South Four Oaks, N.C. 27524. He carries two products White lightning as well as Green Lightning white is less abrasive and is for protection and maintaining a shine and the green is for bringing something back to life. Use of these two products together give you a shine that to me is equal to chrome.
