Copper buckling
I am trying to resolve an issue we are having with one of the store fixtures we produce. Our client has a spec for a curved hanging plywood bulkhead that has the face clad with .021 copper. We have been having issues with the copper buckling, and been unable to determine the cause, tensioning on the cables?, adhesive chemical reaction? humidity and moisture in the substrate? If anyone has any input I would greatly appreciate it.
Thank You,

Dear Mike,
Copper is an excellent conductor, allowances should be made for expansion and contraction. If the .021 copper sheet is glued to the plywood substrate it is more than likely pulling away with changes in temperature.
Take a lesson from attaching aluminum siding to a house, use slotted holes and don't attach too tightly with screws or nails. This should make allowances for expansion and contraction.
