Deburring and polishing of forged brass plates

Q. I am having problems in deburring and polishing of my forged brass mortice handle plate the problem is that it has many levels each having very fine edges. It is not possible to file the entire plate with an abrasive belt. Is there a way to deburr and polish the edges without ruining the edges . I went through a lot of producers who claim to have edge polishing systems but could not figure out which buff or process would do the job.

A. I think there is more to this question than you wrote. Nearly all belt and wheel systems will work the part. Are you trying to hold some dimensions? Normally, the softer or more flexible the wheel, the more detail of the part and the dimensions you can hold. Belts go mainly by the abrasive grain size as a control factor.

A. If excessive stock removal is a problem, maybe a chemical polishing method might work. That way you don't have to worry about rounding any edges or corners and can get an even polish over the whole part.
