Abs plastic painting
2003
Hi,
I need some assistance in painting my abs (plastic) headlight eyebrows. They are black and if anyone can tell me what I need to do to prep them and paint them I would appreciate it.
Thanks,
Mark Porter- Bellingham, Washington
Mark,
l. Clean the ABS 2. To improve paint adherence, perhaps sand v. lightly 3. Use a lacquer type paint as it will bond better than other ones.
I wouldn't waste any $ and get some clear ABS solvent, i.e., MEK / methyl ethyl ketone ... just ensure all oil/grease etc is removed and use a paint that will 'bite' into that material. OK?
