What is "White Pickling" passivating
I'm quoting a job for some thermowells made in Hast-C-276 and Duplex 2205 materials that must be "white pickled (passivated)" after machining. What exactly is "white pickling" (passivating) and how is it accomplished. The parts I'm making are solid-bored flanged thermowells with lengths around 12" long.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you,
