Boric Acid Poisoning of a cat
I had some boric acid out one night and I don't know if my cat ate it or he is ill for another reason. He is not throwing up, but has been not himself for a few days. Not perky, losing weight and thin around the intestinal area. If a cat tastes boric acid do they still throw up or froth at the mouth, because mine isn't. He might be only depressed for the loss of his brother a month ago. Someone took him away from our yard. I had a dream that someone shot him. TRYING TO KEEP THEM ALIVE.

Call the poison control hotline in your area if you have any questions or most definitely call a veterinarian. Boric acid roach killer ⇦this on eBay or Amazon [affil links] is what you use to kill cockroaches. I would assume it to be possibly fatal to your cat. My experience with Boric Acid and cockroaches is that they avoid most poisons because of smell but the boric acid doesn't repel them. Hope your cat survives.

Hello Debbie!
I hope you see this since it's a long time after you posted. I was wondering what became of your cat? I had exactly the same problem. My cat probably ingested some "ant bait"...maybe just a tiny amount, maybe 1/8 tsp. He too was "not himself" and died just yesterday. I felt terrible that I waited too long. I phoned the vet after he died (I had intended to take him in today since it only became obvious something was wrong on Sat. night) and was told that his symptoms sounded like a Urinary Tract problem.
Thanks,
