Chrome and cyanide for sale?
2002
Hi,
I've read probably every letter on chrome plating on this site. I also read everyone mentioning how dangerous chrome plating is. I was interested until I found out the dangers, now I'd like to only do zinc or copper/nickel plating. But why do these online sites sell the chromium to any body? I understand they don't sell cyanide products to just anyone but they still sell Hex chrome which if I'm correct is toxic to the user and anyone around. Its weird, I'm not sure if I'm right, could anyone help me please?

If you swing a baseball bat at a person, it's assault with a deadly weapon. But stores will still sell a stranger a baseball bat even though they won't sell him a gun.
Yes, chromic acid is 'toxic', but it's not in the same league as cyanide--one of the fastest acting and most potent poisons. Still, some on-line services do not sell chromic acid, but only 'chrome-look' substitutes.
