Regeneration time

2002

I work in a coal power plant 135MW that is located in the south from Perú, well our demineralization plant always has a good raw water 8 us/cm, the design flow is 30 cubic meter/hour, the higher conductivity for raw water in design is 20 us/cm, the regeneration is normally made when 5040 cubic meter has been produced by the PLC program, My question is:

Is this regeneration needed?, the resins aren't saturated, the resins are saturated when we has 0.2 us/cm, the water produced is normally produced with 0.05 us cm.

I'll appreciate your answer so much!

Sincerely,

You are correct in your conclusion that your system is not operating in the most efficient way possible. Systems that regenerate based only on the volume processed are not very efficient when the feedwater is variable, since they are usually set for the worst case.

Your choices are either to operate until poor quality water is produced, or to adjust the volume setpoint up and down as your water quality changes in different seasons. Another type of patented control, called "feed forward control" uses the flow and the inlet conductivity to do this automatically in the PLC. For more information you can vist my company's web site.
