Inconel 625 D
Is there a difference between Inconel 625 and Inconel 625D?
Jack Mercury- Framingham, Massachusetts
Hello Jack!
I've not heard of Inconel 625D, and it isn't noted in the Special Metals (current holders of the "Inconel" trade name brochure. Can you give us more details? Or better yet, chat with someone in the technical service department at Special Metals- they should be able to give you the straight story.
Good luck!

Jack,
What Lee said is l00% correct. Go to Special Metals. An offshoot of INCO, so to speak, and Brunner Mond.
However you may not get an answer. I queried both of 'them' re a Wiggin statement that, on testing the welding of a very high grade NiCrMo alloy, the molydenum 'disappeared'... the actual words by their chief metallurgist was that it became denudified.
