PCB coating
What are the typical coating materials over the bare copper? If there isn't any coating, then when does the copper start to oxide?

You need to be much more specific on this as there are so many coatings (Tin, Gold, Nickel, Tin-lead etc). Or are you referring to a screened resist or dry film resist or even peelable resist? Also length of time that copper will remain un-tarnished depends on where & how you store it!
