Electro-Galvanizing
We are ready to have a project electrogalvanized
1.I have found no information anywhere regarding the potential problems ie. oxidation, cleaning and maintence of pieces galvanized.
2. Is it possible to powder coat on electroplated pieces.
Thank you for any information,

Electrogalvanizing means zinc electroplating. Try hunting for it that way. Then if you can find no information anywhere about zinc plating it's time to surrender your paycheck and go back to school

The problem is every one is trying to solicit their services and do not want to discuss the negative, or problems arising from their services for the long term. Most problems are obvious. I need to know about the serious pitfalls.

When you ask for the disadvantages of something, it is always in comparison to an alternative, and always dependent on what you are trying to do.
For example, what are the disadvantages of walking? Well, if you are going to visit your next door neighbor and the alternative is to take a taxi, people can help answer the question. If you are going to Hawaii and the alternative is taking a jetliner, people can advise you that it's a long walk and the water will be over your head. But if you don't tell them where you're going, how can they help you?
You haven't told us what the project is, what environment it will see, why you are considering electrogalvanizing it, what alternatives you want to consider (gold plating, making it of plastic, chocolate dipping it)--you just want to know the disadvantages in a completely abstract way. Well, electrogalvanizing won't last forever; it will develop unsightly corrosion products; it will be subject to zinc whiskers and zinc pest, if applicable. But beyond that, what can we say until you tell us what you are making?
Yes, you can powder coat a zinc plated surface.
