Electro black finish

Here in my city we do a black finish by eletrozinc and then passivating it to black color by means of a cold process. The same can be do to a gold color. I want to know how do you define this process. I'm not talking about a pure chemical way, it is a join between electroplating and the chemical passivation in other color.

I hope I am answering the question in the right way here. As I see the question you want to know how to ask for zinc plating and black passivate and get a black product as you might sometimes get a gold product.

Ask for zinc plate and BLACK passivate (it might be even more helpfull to say the thickness of zinc required).

To get the gold colour ask for Zinc plate and GOLDEN passivate. The gold colour has many names such as yellow, full, dichromate but calling it golden will normally get you what you want.

You can also get blue colour which can be called clear or blue. As you can see there are a lot of different names for the same thing and some seem to have no relation to the colour such as dichromate, but by saying the colour you want you at least have a point to argue with if they come back the wrong colour.
