Sump liners

Does anyone know where 18" diameter X 18" deep ceramic "pickle vats" might be available? I have a customer who wants to use them to line sumps under his plating line (he doesn't want to use plastic or fiberglass).

Thank you.

Hi Mary,

I have an oblique answer to your question ,,, but then you never gave any reason for not wanting 'plastic or fibreglass' ... incidentally, fibreglass (frp) IS a plastic.

I somehow feel/think/assume that your customer doesn't want plastic or frp because moulded Pe tanks have a temperature limitation and fibreglass, well, that is not as acid resistant.

Why don't you suggest to him that he used MOULDED Pe tanks but that externally he gets them with a frp wrap, say, max. 1/8" thick. This will enhance/protect them temperature wise to quite an extent! I'd further suggest that before wrapping these moulded (most definitely available from rotationally moulded tank suppliers in that size) a layer of CORRUGATED cardboard is first placed around the tanks. Why? Because of the high thermal expansion of Pe ... and being corrugated (and who cares if it eventually fails)it will prevent the frp from tightly bonding onto the Pe.

Food for thought, anyhow, eh?
