Painting over a hot-dipped galvanized surface
Dear Gentlemen,
I am looking for a painting procedure for a galvanized surface. The application is an automobile frame, which has been hot-dipped. I would like to add to it's protection and appearance by painting and realize that a primer coat to etch the surface must be applied, can you suggest a process that I can do at home? And if there are such kits how might the best way to apply the primer and paint, spray gun, or brush?
Thanks in advance,
Cordially,

Hi Jeff,
To paint a galv space frame you need a good 2 pot system.Spray is the best way to apply it. Ensure that the galv surface is really clean before you apply anything. Go to an Automotive or industrial paint supplier and talk to them RE system to use.
Good luck,
